Taking Action with Assessment Data, our highly customized professional development series for teachers, coaches, and administrators, shows every stakeholder how to understand the relevant data and take necessary action.

Using Formative Assessment to Improve Student Outcomes
Research shows that formative assessment improves student outcomes — when used frequently and accurately and as the basis of instructional change.

To ensure that you benefit from the growing body of research, we distill best practices, tailor them to your needs, and partner with you to construct a program based on your data and your goals.

Our professional development series gives districts the tools to inform classroom instruction and shows educators how to use “just in time” data analysis to plan and adjust instruction, promoting a comprehensive cycle of school improvement.

We base our in-depth programs on our extensive district and classroom implementation experience, plus a careful analysis of data and needs.

Every session is led by highly qualified literacy assessment specialists. Most are former educators with classroom or administrative experience. Each has in-depth knowledge of data-informed decision-making--with extensive experience interpreting complex data sets, recognizing trends, and transforming data into instructional change.

An additional low-cost session, Taking Action with Benchmark Data Analysis, has been designed for districts wishing to maximize the use of mCLASS:DIBELS data, and a new leadership session, Organizing for Data-Driven Instruction and Literacy Program Leadership, will soon be available for principals and reading coaches.
